Nigel Buchan established Buchan Landscape Architecture in April 2006 to provide advice to a range of clients on rural landscape planning and landscape design. Each project gets personal attention and larger projects are often collaborations with other fully qualified landscape architects, who can also peer review work in progress.
To date projects have included the landscape and visual impact assessment of wind farm and small scale hydro developments in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland; landscape appraisals for transport proposals, methane capture and residential developments; and the design of rural car parks and private gardens in Edinburgh and East Lothian. Nigel has also provided training and mentoring on LVIA methods.
