Based in Edinburgh, Nigel Buchan established Buchan Landscape Architecture in April 2006, providing advice to a range of clients on rural landscape planning and landscape design. Each project gets personal attention and larger projects are often collaborations with other fully qualified landscape architects, who can also peer review work in progress.
Recent projects have included landscape and visual impact assessment of wind farm, solar and hydro developments in Scotland, England and Northern Ireland; wild land assessment; landscape appraisals and capacity assessments for transport proposals, grid infrastructure and residential developments; woodland management plans and the design of rural recreational facilities.
Nigel has also provided training and mentoring on LVIA methods.
